  • Member of the Cognitive Science Society (CSS), the German Society for Psychology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie, DGPs), and founding member of the European Society for Cognitive Psychology (ESCOP). Member of the GI (Gesellschaft für Informatik).
  • Founding member of the German Cognitive Science Society (Gesellschaft für Kognitionswissenschaft, GK), member of the board since 1995, and president for the period 1999-2001.
  • Program chair of the first German conference on cognitive science, 1994. Co-organizer of the Autumn School on Cognition, Freiburg, Sept. 11-15, 2000.
